A9
Before the A9 was reconstructed in the 1970’s and 80’s, the Great
North Road wound it’s way from Perth to Inverness through towns and
villages which are now by-passed. Much of the Old A9 followed the road originally
built by General Wade to pacify the Highlands and although some of it is now
a cycle track there remains numerous sections that can still be travelled
by car. The Old A9 offers a quieter route with a sense of the past and the
    romance that goes with it.
As we travel North through towns and villages, beautiful scenery and stunning
landscapes, the attractions increase. Drive at a more leisurely pace and give
yourself time to see the sights. Discover remnants from the past. Visit ancient
battle sites and stately castles. Travel one section or travel them all.
Away from the hustle and bustle of the new road, step back to a time less
hurried. Join us on this journey. Let’s open our eyes to the past and
    maybe discover something of ourselves.
